Ensemble Work and Unit Coaching in Organisations
Christopher Connolly and John Syer
SyCon - The Sporting Bodymind Group
Executive coaching has often focussed primarily on one-to-one work
particularly when transposed from sport to organisations. People
now require coaching which builds powerful working relationships
in small work units of pairs, threes or fours. Success is increasingly
dependent upon the performance of these small units that are the
working components of teams, departments and organisations.
This presentation will focus on successful Ensemble Work and Unit
Coaching. It will be illustrated with up-to-date examples from professional
and Olympic sport squads, elite musical ensembles and business work
units. It will show how building small group effectiveness can optimise
individual and corporate performance.
In this session delegates will learn:
- The basic requirements of Unit Coaching and the approaches
that differentiate this work from traditional coaching and mentoring.
- How Ensemble Work can sustain output during times of change,
help overcome deficits in individual performance and enhance job
satisfaction.
- How to build powerful performance networks so that teams can
function virtually and sustain positive work environments under
pressure.
- How Ensemble Work and Unit Coaching can be a hot house for
ideas and innovation in working groups.
