Terms of service
Last updated 29 October 2026
In short: CrossCheck TCG gives you information to help you judge whether a graded slab could cross over to another grade or grading company. It's a guide, not a promise: grading companies decide grades with the card in hand, and what you buy, submit or crack is your decision and your risk. It's free during the beta, which may change or end. You must be 18 or over to use it.
1. Who we are
CrossCheck TCG (its Chrome extension, its website www.sbm.co.uk and the server they use) is provided by
SBM LABS, LTD, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17550726), whose registered office is
128 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX ("we", "us"). You can reach us through the contact form, or by
post at our registered office.
2. These terms
These terms apply when you join the waiting list, sign in, or use the CrossCheck TCG extension or website. By doing any of those you agree to them, and to our privacy policy, which explains what we do with your information. If you don't agree, please don't use CrossCheck TCG.
3. Who can use it
- You must be 18 or over.
- One account per person. Keep your sign-in, and any access code we give you, to yourself.
- CrossCheck TCG is in an invite-only beta. We choose who to let in from the waiting list, and joining it doesn't guarantee a place.
4. The beta
- CrossCheck TCG is free during the beta. If we ever introduce charges, we'll tell you first, and you won't be charged for anything you haven't agreed to.
- It's a work in progress: features may change, be limited (for example by daily limits), pause or stop, and the beta may end. We'll try to give notice of big changes, but we can't promise the service will always be available or free of errors.
- The roadmap on our website describes what we plan, not what we promise: plans can change, and we don't commit to any feature or date.
5. What CrossCheck does, and what it doesn't
CrossCheck TCG reads public information (the eBay listing you open, the grading company's public certificate records and images) and shows you results such as a slab's subgrades, a measurement of the card's centering and a verdict on its chances of crossing over. Please keep in mind:
- It's information, not a guarantee. Results are estimates. Measurements have a margin of error, a certificate can be read or matched wrongly, and listings and records can change. No result is a prediction or promise of any grade, crossover, resale value or price.
- Grading companies decide for themselves. PSA, ACE, Beckett and others grade the card in hand, front and back, including things no photo shows. Their decision may differ from anything CrossCheck shows.
- It isn't financial or investment advice. Check the card, the listing and the seller yourself before you buy or submit anything.
6. Your decisions are yours
You're responsible for what you buy, sell, submit for grading or crack open, and for the costs involved (including grading fees, shipping and any loss in value). Cracking a slab is entirely at your own risk: a card can be damaged coming out of its holder, and its grade goes with the holder.
7. Using it fairly
Please don't:
- try to break, overload, reverse engineer or get around the limits of CrossCheck or its server;
- use bots, scripts or anything automated to make lookups or copy results in bulk;
- share, sell or rent your access, or let anyone else use your account;
- use CrossCheck in a way that breaks the law, or the terms of eBay, a grading company or any other site it works with (using eBay and those sites is between you and them).
We may limit, suspend or end anyone's access, or take someone off the beta, if we think these terms have been broken or to protect the service and its users.
8. Other companies' names and content
CrossCheck TCG isn't connected with, endorsed by or sponsored by ACE Grading, PSA (Collectors Universe), Beckett Grading Services, eBay, Nintendo or The Pokémon Company. Their names and trademarks belong to their owners and are used only to say what CrossCheck works with. Card images belong to their owners. CrossCheck depends on those companies' public websites and services; if they change, some features may stop working.
9. Your content
When you place centering lines in the Adjust editor, send us a message or leave a note on the waiting list, you let us store and use it to run and improve CrossCheck TCG (for example, to make the centering measurement more accurate), as described in the privacy policy. You keep any rights you have in it.
10. Our content
The CrossCheck TCG extension, website, software, measurements and designs belong to SBM LABS, LTD. While you're on the beta we give you a personal, non-transferable permission to use them for your own collecting. Please don't copy, redistribute or resell the extension or its results as your own service.
11. Our responsibility to you
- CrossCheck TCG is provided "as is" and "as available", free of charge, without any promise that it will be accurate, complete or uninterrupted.
- As far as the law allows, we aren't responsible for any loss that comes from decisions you make using CrossCheck (including buying, selling, grading, crossing over or cracking a card), for losses that weren't foreseeable, for business losses or lost profits, or for the service being unavailable.
- As far as the law allows, our total liability to you for anything to do with CrossCheck TCG is limited to £100.
- Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't be limited or excluded under the law. If you're a consumer, nothing here affects your legal rights.
12. Ending
You can stop using CrossCheck TCG at any time: uninstall the extension and, if you'd like your data deleted, ask us (see the privacy policy). We may end the beta, or your access, at any time; where we reasonably can, we'll tell you first.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when we add features. We'll change the date at the top, and tell you on the website or in the extension about any important change. If you keep using CrossCheck TCG after a change, the new terms apply.
14. The law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales can deal with any dispute. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your local courts.
